Daily Prayer and Prayer for the Coronavirus by Lucy Pease

Daily Prayer and Prayer for the Coronavirus

I would like to introduce to you the website: www.24-7prayer.com.

24/7 Prayer is an amazing prayer movement that was started just before the beginning of this century by Pete Grieg and their website is a brilliant hub of resources to inspire individual prayer as well as prayer in community.  Do take a look at the website for stories, prayers and all sorts of interesting initiatives – you will find it fascinating as well as very educational and empowering.

If you haven’t really prayed before, or if you find it difficult to pray, you will find all you need to know and ways of getting started.  Under the tab ‘Prayer’ you can click on ‘Help Me Pray’.

Also on the website you will see the tab ‘Media’ where you can access prayer apps, blogs and podcasts.  The Lectio365 is a very good app for daily devotional prayer.  All these applications are helpful for invigorating our prayer life, particularly at this very challenging time for our country.

God hears our prayers, he answers them and as Alex preached last Sunday they are an antidote to anxiety, because as we pray we receive God’s peace in our hearts.

Philippians 4.6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”

The following prayer is taken from the 24/7 Prayer website and I found it helpful as a guide for my own prayers for the Coronavirus pandemic:
