Two Special Sundays

Last week we came together to celebrate the festival of Pentecost. In our Gospel reading from John we heard Jesus’ teaching about the coming of “another” Helper, the Holy Spirit, and in the sermon I focused on our receiving the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy and peace:

And this week we will be celebrating Trinity Sunday. Again our Gospel reading will be from John, and we will look from a different angle at that same teaching of Jesus—on how his Spirit helps us know God for ourselves.

Please join us at 08.30am for Holy Communion (1662) at St Swithun’s, Martyr Worthy or at 10.00am for Valley Worship at St Mary’s, Easton. Because it is the first Sunday of Schools’ half term, there will be no separate teaching for children in the Ark, but they will be welcome to join us throughout the service.

May I wish you all a happy Bank Holiday weekend: and may we enjoy the presence of God’s Spirit in our lives!
