If you haven’t been to Cafe Church before, why not join us this Sunday

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

Galatians 5 v 25

‘The Lord make his face shine on you’

Numbers 6 v 25

As I ended my holiday someone said:  “Where you are looking is where you are going”. This was a phrase I’d never heard before and in some ways it’s a statement of the obvious. I happened to be looking at some wind turbines sitting on top of a hill when this was said to me.

What I had never noticed before is that not only do turbines turn in response to the power of the wind, they also change with its direction. Were this not the case, it would be possible for the wind to be blowing its socks off and for the turbine to turn very little.

Where you are facing matters to God.  This was a reminder to me as I begin this autumn not to look solely to myself for the direction we will travel in together. The work starts by facing Him and then consistently turning to Him in prayer helps keep us all heading in the right direction.

A Prayer of Mother Teresa

Dear Jesus, help me to spread Your fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with your Spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Yours. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Your presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus. Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others’

with every blessing

David

Next week is our Church Lunch, please do let Beccy know if you are able to attend (so we know how many sausages are required!)
