Church Matters – Sunday 21 December

Sunday 21 December

10am Parish Communion – St Mary’s, Avington

6pm Traditional Carols – St Swithun’s, Martyr Worthy

We look forward to our annual carol service, taking place in St Swithun’s, Martyr Worthy this Sunday (21 December) at 6.00pm. There will be six readings, three special choir selections for us all to enjoy listening to, and seven of your favourite carols to be sung by the congregation. Come and launch your celebration of Christmas (a glass of wine will be on offer after the service)!

Valley Worship

At Valley Worship last Sunday (held at St Swithun’s in Martyr Worthy), as part of the long-running ‘Every Day Lives’ series, Willy Ann Henderson was interviewed by Nicky Barber.   Her moving and powerful testimony can be heard via this link.  Apologies as the quality is not as clear as we would hope but it wasn’t originally recorded to share.

Drawing on 1 Peter, Chapter 2 and its verses 4 to 8a, John Barber spoke on the case the Apostle Peter makes that faith in Jesus should be the cornerstone of our lives.   The reading and the text of his talk can be accessed via this link.   The recording of his talk can be accessed here

Little Rainbows

A lovely group of mums and tots came together to celebrate Christmas and their last Little Rainbows get together of the year.  It was also a lovely occasion to invite the older rainbows who so kindly support the group every week with coffee and treats and thank them for all they do for this lovely group.

Geoff Dee

The Thanksgiving Service of long term resident of Easton and valued member of our church community Geoff Dee, will be held at St Mary’s Church, Easton on Friday 19th December 2025 at 12:00 PM
