10am Morning Worship – St Mary’s, Easton

As a rare exception, regrettably the Clerical Register cannot provide us with an ordained priest to lead our Parish Communion service this coming Sunday, so it will instead be a Morning Worship one. We remain grateful for the excellent support we have received from the Clerical Register throughout the current vacancy and to Gerry for being able to take this service for us.

Valley Worship

Last Sunday at St Swithun’s, at our monthly Valley Worship service, John Barber spoke on the topic of our work and whether it matters to God, drawing on 1 Peter 2:18-24. The text of the talk (which includes the reading) can be found here.

Evensong

At Evensong in St Swithun’s recently, Simon Ffennell talked briefly about the campaign to secure recognition for Choral Evensong under UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. This matters, because it would help safeguard the future of Choral Evensong and other sacred choral music, not least by highlighting its global significance as a centuries-old tradition which continues to flourish in cathedrals and parish churches across the country. The campaign is being led by Cathedral Music Trust (of which I am a trustee), in collaboration with many across the sector. You can help by adding your name to the letter of support here. The Parish Office

As next week is half term, Beccy will not be working from the church office. She will still be working but not the same hours so emails will be replied to but maybe not as promptly, she will also still be picking up telephone messages.
