Valley Worship last Sunday
Thank you to Nick Fuggle for his excellent talk last Sunday on Psalm 139, If you weren’t able to attend the service it can be listened to via the link to the recording below or read here. John Bouldin was a memorable and most interesting Everyday Lives interviewee and Tim Clapp led us in some very special worship which complemented the service beautifully. James Greig delivered heartfelt prayers and we were delighted to welcome the children from the Ark back at the end of the service to tell us what they had been learning about the Holy Spirit.

A visitor rolling through the Valley

If you were at Valley Worship on Sunday, you might have encountered a wonderful lady and her wheelchair trike visiting St Swithun’s. Laura, from the Netherlands, is on a pilgrimage from London, via Winchester to Canterbury, using an electrically assisted wheelchair. She suffers from a rare disease that means that her joints easily detach. She can walk no more than about 100 yards and has what looked like rings on all her fingers but they were in fact supports that held them together! Whilst locking up St John’s the night before, Joan Dartnell encountered her and offered her space to pitch her tent. Rodney and Joan took her to supper in the pub before waving her off with a hearty breakfast the next morning. She spoke excellent English and was very good company, well read and very interesting as well as interested. Her blog and further information are available at www.rolstoelpelgrim.nl
