Valley Football by Beccy Clark

After 10 years absence the fun family football match was resurrected following the Valley worship service today in the school field in Easton. On a sun kissed pitch more akin to a hay meadow 10 enthusiastic players went head to head in a fabulous fifteen goal thriller. Our Rector Alex came on as a late addition to add pace and authority up front but was withdrawn by Lucy to protect him for another day and another sermon!

With the team ages ranging from 10 years old upwards, the energy was provided by the younger members of the team whereas the more mature players relied on banter and foul play which ultimately backfired with the younger players winning 8-7 in a closely fought match.

Golden boot award went to Paddy Clark scoring 7 goals ably assisted by Joseph Rember and sibling duo Eloise and Bradley Clarke, the goal keeping and defence duties were supplied by the dads fuelled by bacon baps and memories of their youth.

This was a fantastic fun event which we are keen to continue over the summer months and are looking forward to more people joining us after Valley Worship in June and into the future.
