National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast 2018

This morning I attended the annual National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast at Westminster Hall (part of the Houses of Parliament) organised and hosted by Christians in Parliament All Party Parliamentary Group at the kind invitation of Steve Brine, our MP and parishioner.
The Prime Minister Theresa May was present as were about 145 MPs and numerous church leaders from all over the country.
Keith and Kristyn Getty led the worship including In Christ Alone, Praise to the Lord Almighty and a very very moving unaccompanied singing of Psalm 23.  The reading was taken from Matthew 5 – the sermon on the mount – and the particular passage where Jesus encourages us as his followers to be salt in our communities.
There was a Keynote Speech by the renowned New York pastor and preacher Revd Dr Tim Keller which I have to say was astonishing in its clarity and relevance which concluded with an appeal to British society to let Christians get on with doing what they do and judge them by their own standards and not by anyone else’s standards.
Here is Tim Keller’s talk Tim Keller talk at NPPB 2018
A big thank you to Steve for inviting me to this remarkable morning.
Alex
