Ascension day is celebrated 40 days after Easter. In ancient tradition it would have included an all-night vigil with a celebration service at dawn followed by a feast to remember the ascension of Jesus to heaven. We are not proposing an all-night vigil but will be celebrating the ascension at dawn and having a feast. We would love it if you could join us at 4.30am on Thursday 13th May at St Mary’s Church, Avington for a short service of prayer and reflection followed by bacon butties.
