Bishop Debbie of the Winchester Diocese has sent the following message that may be of interest to you, especially if you are feeling anxious about the way forward for all of us in these still challenging times:
Earlier this week, I was sent these words from Psalm 37:5 – ‘Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.’ We can sometimes find ourselves in situations where we need to rely on God and trust that he will be with us even if we don’t quite know where we are heading. As we readjust to life that is slowly returning to some form of normality, this verse may be one that offers comfort. The way ahead might be unclear, but the promise of God’s faithfulness to us is something that we can rely on.
She has also highlighted a timely initiative:
This month we are encouraging parishes and congregations in the Winchester Diocese to take part in the Wildlife Trust’s ’30 Days Wild’ initiative, which invites us to do one thing each day to help care for the environment while spending time appreciating God’s creation. Perhaps you could watch the sunrise, plant a seed, buy local produce or have a plastic free day. You can post your wild activities on any of our social media platforms so we can celebrate all that you are doing.
