What better way to welcome in Advent than with a wonderful choral evensong at Martyr Worthy. St Swithun’s was full  with an excited congregation eager to share a traditional service with glorious music.

Tim Tyler led a twenty strong choir in singing many traditional Advent anthems and led the congregation throughout the service.

The music was wonderful, the singing inspired and Revd. Peter Walker preached on the hope that we are given during Advent for the joy to come at Christmas. We left with the music ringing in our ears and the Holy Spirit singing in our hearts to be greeted with a light covering of snow at the church gate. Truly an inspiring start to our Christmas season in the valley.
