Sunday’s Services and Recording – Revd Peter

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6)

What a joy it was to worship together on Sunday—albeit in two very different styles: with our Parish Communion at Easton, and our All-Age Worship inside Avington barn at 4.00pm.

The afternoon service was something of an experiment—at a new venue and at a new time—but seemed to work really well. Some 65 of us (indeed of ‘all ages’, ranging from 2 up to 92!) came together under the leadership of Julia Wright and Tim Clapp to worship as a Church Family and to hear James Greig open up the theme of ‘Trust and Hope in the Lord’ (based on our memory verse above).

A big ‘thank you’ to Robert Stent for his kind hospitality and to all who made the venue so welcoming—including the wonderful tea-boxes for the children. “I wish all our church services could be like that!”, said one of the children. Was that the food or the worship?! Whatever the precise answer, the combination was powerful.

So let’s pray we can build on this in future All Age services over the coming weeks and months.
