This Sunday

In the light of my testing positive for Covid yesterday, I regret that the 08.00 BCP Holy Communion service has been cancelled.

But I’m glad that the All Age Worship service at 10.00am is in the capable hands of James Greig, Julia Wright, Tim Clapp and Sarah Noble. This service will be at St Mary’s Easton, so the rector will be able to watch the recording afterwards!  We also have the added incentive of snack bags for the children and coffee and muffins for the adults

In a Press Release on the Church of England’s website the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have designated this Sunday as a Day of Special Prayer for the tragic situation in Ukraine. There are some useful resources to guide our prayers on the website and I commend them to you. When the Psalmist saw how the ‘nations were in uproar’, he was yet able to say confidently:

‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble’ (Psa. 46:1).

May this be true for the many for whom we are praying.

Many have been asking about possible ways of giving to help in this crisis: here is one link that we have been sent which may be useful.
