Cinema or Church?

This weekend you can do both!

Join us at 3.00pm on Saturday afternoon for our inaugural cinema presentation in St John’s, Itchen Abbas. We will be watching the fantasy drama film Midnight in Paris which won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2012. Tickets are £8.00, with proceeds going to support our church’s ministry in the Valley.

Then, on Sunday, there is a choice of celebrating Holy Communion together at 08.00am in St John’s Itchen Abbas (following the 1662 Book of Common Prayer) or coming to St Mary’s, Easton, at 10.00am to enjoy our monthly Valley Worship.

I will be starting a new Valley Worship Sermon Series in John’s Gospel. This week we will be looking at Jesus’ claim to be the ‘Bread of Life’ and, so rumour has it, Verity Greig—during my sermon indeed!—will be taking our children to the back of church to help them in some way with their cooking skills. I suppose it is indeed all on the same theme!

So please do come to church this weekend: it’s an opportunity for us all, as the whole church family, to enjoy each other’s company and to be fed by Jesus and his Word.

with love and prayers

Revd Peter
