Last Sunday

Last Sunday it was lovely to welcome the friends and family of Charlie and Tara Howarth to St Mary’s, Easton for the baptism of baby Louis during our monthly Parish Communion.

The Gospel for the day included the famous verse that ‘God so loved the world…’ (John 3:16); so it was good to able to give the baptism family a small wooden heart and a cross to remind us all of God’s heart of love—as shown in his ‘giving’ of his Son on the cross that we might have ‘eternal life’.

And then, in the afternoon, a good number of us came together once again to enjoy each other’s company as Café church. A massive thanks to all those who, throughout the winter, have planned and prayed, and then delivered these great times of fun and fellowship. This month Sarah Noble gave us much ‘food for thought’ with her focus on Paul’s great words in Philippians:

‘If there is anything worthy of praise, thank about such things, … and the God of peace will be with you’ (Phil. 4:8-9).
