Café Church yesterday afternoon in the Itchen Abbas Village Hall was full of life and enjoyed by a gathering of nearly 50 people of all ages. The lengthening days meant that energetic games could be enjoyed in the garden by the children in daylight and as always plentiful savoury and sweet sustenance was on offer, thanks to dedicated bakers, sandwich makers and hot dog chefs.

We were blessed in being led in worship by a four person band, with Sarah Noble on the piano, Fraser on the violin and Alfie and Tim Clapp on electric and acoustic guitars, respectively. Jenny Crowther gave a very special testimony of the power of a simple prayer expressed in faith. As ever Georgie Walker and Jean Taylor quietly got on with the job of preparing tea and coffee and of washing up, making a key contribution to the smooth running of the gathering.
