Celebrating Harvest

What a lovely day we had last Saturday as we hosted our parish-wide Harvest Tea at St John’s, Itchen Abbas.

Thanks to Sarah Hunt and Jill Croft, and their team of helpful assistants, around 35 of us were able to sit around tables in the church and enjoy an amazing array of sandwiches, cakes and scones. Meanwhile outside, thanks to Alex Bellisario and others, younger families were able to gather under, and in front of, Karl Helgesen’s (very easily assembled!) tent in the area between the main church yard and the car park.

We also enjoyed two lovely services, and wonderful harvest flower arrangements, at St Mary’s, Easton and St Swithun’s, Martyr Worthy.

And now we look forward to Celebrating harvest again at the eastern end of the Valley with a Parish Harvest Communion in St John’s, Itchen Abbas at 10.00am and Songs of Praise in the evening in St Mary’s Avington, starting at 6.00pm.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good: his love endures for ever! (Psalm 106:1).
