We hope you have been able to attend and enjoy some of our wonderful services over Easter. We are so grateful to everybody who worked so hard to bring these services together including the organisers, Church Wardens and Vergers, Gerry, Simon Ffennell and the guest Ministers, the refreshment helpers, the Health and Safety representatives and of course all the people who attended.
At this time of year, as Lent has ended and we are again able to have flowers in our churches, we are also very grateful to the wonderful army of flower arrangers that make our churches look so beautiful and welcoming all year round both for services and visitors.

Below are photographs from some of the services from Easter but there were also other just as special services such as Compline at St Swithun’s, Maundy Thursday at St John’s and Easter Sunday Songs of Praise at St Mary’s, Avington.
Palm Sunday

Way of the Cross
A special thank you to Jenny Crowther and Jude Mezger who worked so tirelessly to bring everyone together for this amazing tradition. Thank you to every person who took part helping to make this such a special event for everyone watching and for serving coffee and hot cross buns afterwards, it was lovely to see so many people attending and acting – both new faces and old friends, a very special occasion.

Easter Sunday
We were very grateful to Bishop David Williams, newly appointed Bishop of Truro, who we welcomed to St Swithun’s to lead a wonderful Easter Sunday Parish Communion. The church was packed to hear him speak and it was very special to have the opportunity to speak to him over coffee afterwards and wish him well following the last service he will be taking in the Winchester Diocese. We are so grateful for all the support and love he has given us as a Parish and Theo was able to thank him on our behalf. The children were very well entertained in the Ark by Sarah Noble before they took part in our traditional Easter Egg Hunt.

We are looking forward to Easter Praise at 4pm Sunday at St Mary’s Easton, we hope to see you for this informal service.
