Crib Service – A message of thanks

Thanks should go out to everyone who helped create such a wonderful array of Christmas services, but special thanks should be extended to Theo Mezger and his team, who  pulled together the wonderful Crib Service.  This is always such a highlight of the season and is a special tradition enjoyed by so many families who don’t necessarily attend church at any other time, so it is very important for it to be a welcoming and special service.

As a result of Theo’s months of planning and drawing together of an outstanding set of volunteer contributors (including younger ones who did the narration and acting brilliantly), this year’s service was a triumph. Everyone who took part did so well and we were also very privileged to have Bishop Kelly’s presence and warm contributions, just weeks after she took up her post.  Thank you to every single person who helped to make this service happen and such a lovely start to the Christmas festivities for the over 250 people who attended.

Café Church

2026 started with a bang when firstly over 40 people attended Parish Communion at Martyr Worthy and then over 30 people came together at a special Café Church Bring and Share Lunch last Sunday.  The event was led by  the Fuggle Family, with Georgina speaking about Epiphany, Nick leading the worship and the children leading the prayers along with two friends (Jasper, Wilber and Rosabella Fuggle also led an Epiphany-themed quiz, with lots of good questions about monarchs).  It was a great event with people enjoying the chance to catch up with friends over lunch.  We look forward to Café Church continuing into 2026 at the regular time of 4pm on the first Sunday in the month – everyone is welcome.
