St Mellitus College – Young Vocations

Two notices from the Diocesan Office:

St Mellitus College
World-class theology course streamed to Southampton

St Mellitus is one of the most exciting and innovative centres of theological study and training for missional leadership in the UK today. Now in Southampton, the Diocese has arranged to stream teaching from the first year of the St Mellitus BA course in ‘Theology, Ministry & Mission’ – delivered by a wide range of world-class scholars and first-rate practitioners.

This high-quality training will help Christians at any life stage to explore their faith more deeply, to help prepare students for leadership in ministry or mission, to equip those who are called to pioneer new churches, and to offer a challenge around exploring how the church can adapt to a fast-changing world. If you want to explore your faith, stretch your mind, and expand your heart – this is an incredibly exciting opportunity!

CEMES Southampton – Young Vocations

New ‘gap year’ exploring young vocations

CEMES is a new ‘gap year’ programme offering young adults (aged 18-30) the opportunity to explore their calling and vocation through a year volunteering as Leadership Assistants within a diverse group of churches in Southampton. As part of the national ‘Church of England Ministry Experience Scheme’ (CEMES) this programme is completely FREE to join!

Participants will gain practical experience in parish ministry, church leadership, community engagement, pioneer mission and fresh expressions of church, while also working together on bigger projects across the city. Participants will also be offered full board, a monthly living allowance, supervision, support, and the opportunity to engage in the above theology course, streamed from St Mellitus College.
