Richard McVeigh, Director of Music, St John’s Church, New Alresford writes: ‘We would like to invite you to a special Choral Evensong on Saturday 25th February at 4pm, followed by a drinks reception in the John Pearson Hall from 5 – 6:30pm, to which we are also inviting representatives from Alresford’s schools, hotels and B&Bs, societies, the Chamber of Commerce, Churches Together, the Diocese of Winchester, Winchester tourist office, and the town council. We are delighted that the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Jane Rutter, has kindly agreed to co-host this event with the Church. The St John’s Church Choir will be singing magnificent music in this service, which with its glorious words and music can inspire people of all faiths and none.
