Dear All,
We need to let you know some of the details of our arrangements in Itchen Valley Parish for the next few days of Holy Week a few of which have changed since being publicised elsewhere.
Tomorrow Sunday 25th March our Palm Sunday Procession will start from the river end of Church Lane Martyr Worthy at 9.45am (not 10am) and be led by Max the donkey. Please do join us. We had intended to commission the Valley Visitors at our Palm Sunday service which follows on at St Swithun’s Martyr Worthy immediately after the procession, but, for various reasons the commissioning will now take place at a later date. Please see the following report of our Palm Sunday service last year
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 8pm we will be holding services of Compline at St Swithun’s Martyr Worthy
On Thursday evening we will be holding a Maundy Thursday Service of Holy Communion at St Swithun’s Martyr Worthy at 8pm
On Friday 30th March our Way of the Cross pageant will begin at 10am at the river end of Church Lane Martyr Worthy. Please do join us – it is always good fun but also very moving as we reenact Jesus’ last few hours. This is the report of last year’s event
On Friday 30th March we will hold a Last Hour service of contemplation at St John’s Itchen Abbas at 2pm
On Easter Sunday 1st April we have four services:
at 8am a BCP Communion at St John’s Itchen Abbas–
at 9.30am a Family Communion at St Mary’s Easton
at 11am a Traditional Communion at St Swithun’s Martyr Worthy.
at 6pm Evensong at St Mary’s Avington
Please note these different timings from those which may have been publicised elsewhere.
If you have any queries on any of these arrangements please do contact our Parish Administrator Beccy admin@itchenvalleychurches.org
Best wishes
Alex
