As some of you know, Lucy and I and Theo and Judith went to the HTB Leadership Conference at the Royal Albert Hall at the beginning of May this year and here is a brief video oversight of what we saw and heard.
My own high points were: to see the number of Catholic priests attending – I think over 300 including Father Mark Hogan of St Peter’s Winchester; the incredible testimony of Ryan a son of Northern Ireland’s troubles – father in the UVF and step father in the IRA brought up dealing drugs and wonderfully now helping to lead the Alpha course in a church in Northern Ireland; Immaculée Ilibagiza hidden for three months in a tiny bathroom during the Rwandan genocide while her family were murdered and is now a UN ambassador for reconciliation http:/https://www.amazon.co.uk/Left-Tell-Surviving-Rwandan-Genocide/dp/1781802955/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527676208&sr=8-1&keywords=Immaculée+Ilibagiza and Bryan Stevenson who spends his time getting people off death row in the United Stateshttp:/https://www.amazon.co.uk/Just-Mercy-story-justice-redemption/dp/1925228312/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527676277&sr=8-1&keywords=bryan+stevenson+just+mercy
Some astonishing talks, totally wonderful to see so many friends as well.
I am keen to take a group from Itchen Valley Parish to this conference next year. Please do let me know if you would like to attend.
