We are well into wedding season now – with six weddings on our books over the next few months.  I really enjoy weddings – moments of sheer joy and excitement for all concerned. Just good news!  They are such a wonderful opportunity to remember our own wedding vows and share in the excitement of the couple getting married.  Each is different with different emphases and particularly touching moments.  Just great.  Our most popular wedding churches are St Swithun’s Martyr Worthy and St.  Mary’s Easton although we also hold weddings at St John’s Itchen Abbas and St Mary’s Avington from time to time.

We do have, of course, wonderful and beautiful churches for our weddings to take place and so many people would like to get  married here.  However, its a lot of work for the vergers and sidesmen not to mention church wardens, cleaners and flower arrangers and so we do restrict those who can get married here in accordance with the policy set out on our wedding page on this website.

I would just like to thank those who do keep the churches in order and enable these couples to get married.  Thank you so much for all the hard work!
