I am so sorry to advise you of the death of Gerald Symes. Gerald Symes (who was, I believe, known as Bunny) was  born on 9 November 1924 and died on 21 February, peacefully in Wadhurst, East Sussex, aged 94.   His last home in Easton was Hope Cottage.  He and his mother built Willowmead (opposite Dymoke House) in the 60’s and he moved from there to Hope Cottage after her death.  He was treasurer and instrumental in running the Easton News since its inception until just before he left the village in 2013.  He contributed to writing the pantomimes for many years and he ran the lighting for every one! He was very well known around the village and lived there for over 50 years.

I will advise you when we hear something about plans for funerals and thanksgiving.
