Open the Book at Itchen Abbas Primary School

Its been a busy week for the relationship between our local primary school Itchen Abbas Primary School and Itchen Valley Parish.  On Monday we held the school Harvest Festival Service at St John’s Itchen Abbas – the church was packed and six children took part in the very messy and explosive ‘Story of the Slice’ and today we visited the school for our twice termly Open the Book assembly.

It was incredibly encouraging how so many of the children had remembered the stories from the previous two Open the Book assemblies that the church has led – the Prodigal Son and Moses in the basket

Sonia Cragg led the story this morning about the feeding of the 5000.  James Greig acted as Jesus, with James Cheesman and Richard Hunt as disciples.  Just a great way to start the morning!  Thank you Sonia for organising it all and to James Greig James Cheesman and Richard Hunt for getting involved!
