Dear All
Just a few further words on Zoom. Many of you will already have downloaded the Zoom app onto your computer, so that you can meet up with friends and family during the lockdown. Just in case you have not, you may find that it is easier to do this with the web browser called Chrome rather than Safari, which is typically available on Apple computers. So it might be worth downloading that browser as well and pasting the link below into it when you want to join the meeting. You can download from your Applications Store. Then you might need to download the Zoom app.
Its all free so don’t worry and is actually very easy indeed, but it may just be best to have a go at this on Saturday, rather than trying to do it in a rush on Sunday morning….
Just to reiterate, here is the post that we sent out yesterday
Dear Parishioners,
We have a very special Valley Worship this Sunday at 10am, where we will be gathering for the first time on a video conferencing service called Zoom. The service will be led by James Greig, one of our BCMs and we have James Wright speaking to us on Romans 5.
You may have heard of Zoom being mentioned in the press a lot at the moment, it is like a virtual meeting room where people gather at a set time via the internet. The huge benefit is that we get to see each other via our webcams.
Below is a link to the ‘gathering’, when you click on the link it will take you to Zoom’s website, where you’ll be prompted to download Zoom’s software – but in the bottom right it also says ‘Join from your browser’ you can click this if you’d rather not download the zoom programme to your computer.
When you enter the meeting, you’ll be asked to use your computers microphone and camera. If you do not have a camera on your computer, you can simply watch and join in. A recording of the service will also be available later in the day on our YouTube page.
There will be no separate order of service this week as all the words will come up onscreen.
You may also be asked to enter a meeting ID and password which are also provided below.
If you, or you know of someone who doesn’t have access to a computer, then there is a phone number below where you can join the service by phone – simply call the number then tap in the meeting ID and password when prompted.
