Dear Parishioners,
Because you were not able to come to us at Grace’s Barn this year to sing carols we have decided to visit you. This year the Itchen Valley Parish Choir led by Maj. Gen. Tim Tyler will be travelling throughout Itchen Valley Parish to bring carol singing to your village. With the wonderful support of Michael Gray who is providing the transport and Chris Ellis who is organising amplification the choir will be stopping once in each village to sing. If you want to join in please do! You will find below a carol sheets to enable you to do so.
Please make sure that you socially distance as Covid is no respecter of cold winter’s evenings and follow the directions of the marshals who will be wearing hi-viz jackets.
The timings are as follows:
1800 First stop in Martyr Worthy at War Memorial in Church Lane
1830 Second stop in Station Road in Itchen Abbas
1900 Third stop by entrance to Avington Park in Avington
1930 Final stop outside Cricketers in Easton
The singers will sing three carols and do one request from the carol sheet below.
We obviously cannot collect cash from you as carol singers are inclined to do – but you can still contribute to Itchen Valley Parish’s Christmas Charities (Winchester Basics Bank, Trinity, the Nightshelter and the Children’s Society).
If you would like to donate to the Parish’s Christmas Charities, you can do so simply by clicking this button and following the details
This link will take to the church’s regular giving page. If you wish to contribute to our Christmas collection for our four named charities, please select ‘Just one donation’ and we undertake that all such donations from now until the end of 2020 will be added together and divided equally amongst the four charities. Early in the New Year we will publish on the Itchen List the amount collected
If you are with children please make sure that you keep them under control and out of the way of the traffic!
Best wishes
Alex
