Pancake Party Fun

How can we thank enough all those who made the Pancake Party yesterday to be so special?! Initial estimates suggest that at least 250 cakes were made by the great team in the kitchen (comprising Theo , Gerry and Jenny ), ably assisted by their younger helpers (Paddy, Alfie and Fraser) and Jean getting very sticky with the toppings!Meanwhile James was busy in the hall helping children to make their own artificial pancakes from soft material, filled with cotton wool and neatly glued together. Looked great, but not so tasty!

It was so good to have so many of all ages—but especially parents with their young children—coming together at the end of a busy winter’s day at school or at work. So a big ‘Thank You’ to Jude and Beccy for all the background planning which made it all possible.

Now we are in Lent, but rumour has it that the next event in Itchen Abbas Village Hall—Café Church on Sunday 5 March—will be just as much fun! Do join us, then at 4.00pm.

Many thanks, Revd Peter
