Walk of Hope – finale

It was so wonderful to see so many people (suitably socially distanced) in St Swithun’s Martyr Worthy churchyard on Sunday for the finale of our Walk of Hope in which a lot of people ate a lot of Jude’s ice cream (thank you James Wright) but probably not more that the Rector….

In all 32 of us took part in the Walk of Hope and covered between us the 49 kilometre squares included in the Parish.  Of all the kilometre squares 6 BC and D were most popular.  It got quite competitive….

As you look at the map you will see that all of the squares are now shaded out!  This means that every square foot of the parish has been prayed over and walked over.  Remembering the quotation from Joshua 1:3 “I will give you every place where you set your foot”, we can be confident that we have claimed the whole geography of our parish for Jesus Christ…particularly squares 6 BC and D!

Thank you to Nicky Barber, Lucy Pease and Julia Wright for coming up with this wonderful idea as our contribution to the South Downs Awakening www.southdownsawakening.com  and for putting it all together so beautifully.  Thank you also to Hannah Barber for her wonderful art work in the Walk of Hope guide and to Beccy Clark for all your work on the website and maps etc.  Thank you too to John Bouldin who has put together the following wonderful video of our experience:
