Thy Kingdom Come – Ascension to Pentecost 2019

Please watch this video….

In Itchen Valley Parish we will be praying Thy Kingdom Come in three ways between Ascension and Pentecost.

Firstly, we will all be praying daily for five of our neighbours to come to know Jesus Christ.  If you have not yet received TKC bookmark then please ask Beccy in our Parish Office.  The idea is that by a bookmark or by a leather strap with knots tied in it that we will remember to pray every day for five individuals who are our neighbours that they will begin to worship God with us.  We will then wait to see what God through the Holy Spirit does in their lives but be on hand to answer questions for the hope that we have if they should ask us.

Secondly, I will be walking and praying around the bounds of the Parish on Tuesday 4th June.  The parish is actually quite wide and I have not worked out my complete route but when I do so I will aim to get to particular points in each of the villages by particular times (further details will follow).  If you would like to join me for some or all of the prayer walk you would be very welcome indeed.  I will publish details of the route in due course at the times that I will be reaching each staging post.

Thirdly, we will be holding a Sung Evensong on Pentecost evening at St Swithun’s Martyr Worthy at 6pm on Sunday 9th June 2019.  Our occasional Itchen Valley Parish choir under the direction of Maj Gen Tim Tyler will sing.  Please do join us and invite your friends also. I will be giving a talk under the title ‘Not drunk as you suppose’ on why it is rational to believe in Christianity.
